• Simulation and Analysis of Airflow Model in Sickroom Generated
  • 2012-02-28
The characteristics of indoor airflow distribution determine the movement performance of the minute granule contamination in air. In this paper, according to control demands of the concentration of minute granule contamination with virus and bacteria in air of the sickroom, the characteristics of indoor airflow distribution, which are generated by air clean-disinfector (ACD) under the conditions of various air volume and styles of supplying and return air, have been simulated by indoor zero-equation turbulence model and CFD. The results show that not only can the airflow model generated by the ACD meet the design demands to control indoor minute granule contamination, but also there is a suitable air volume range for a given room. The performance of the indoor airflow distribution will be bad with the increase of supply-air angle of the ACD and there is a maximum value for the supply-air angle, otherwise a rising airflow will occurred in the sickroom. There will not be an obvious influence on the performance of the indoor airflow distribution by changing the size of the return air opening, but the resistance of the return air opening will vary greatly according to the simulation of indoor airflow distribution. All these results will be the theoretical basis to develop the ACD and control it.
